Save TikToks and Reels straight into a Notion database
Every clip becomes a page in a Clippings database in your workspace: your note pinned to the top, the key takeaways, and the full transcript underneath, with the creator, platform, source link and date as properties you can filter and sort on.
How the connection works
You connect Notion once, from your Clippings settings, and share a page with it in Notion's picker. The first time a clip lands, Clippings creates a database called Clippings inside that page. Every clip after that is a new page in the database: one workspace, one database, one page per clip.
Long transcripts are written in chunks to stay inside Notion's limits, so a ten-minute talk arrives whole. Clippings creates the page and then leaves it alone; it never comes back to rewrite or delete what it filed.
What a filed clip looks like
The database has seven properties, filled in for every clip:
- Name — the creator and the title of the post.
- Creator, Platform (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X, Facebook) and Notebook, as selects you can group by.
- Saved — the date, so a view of this week's saves is one filter.
- Source — the original link.
- Note — what you wrote when you saved it.
Inside the page: a callout with your note under Why saved, the creator's caption, the key takeaways as bullets, and the full transcript — or the slide text for a photo carousel, labelled as such. Because the facts are properties rather than prose, you can build any view Notion allows: by creator, by platform, by notebook, unread this week.
Setting it up
- Sign in to Clippings and open Settings, then Connect Notion.
- In Notion's picker, choose at least one page to share. The Clippings database is created inside it.
- Turn on the Notion connection.
- Save a clip. The database appears in the page you shared, with the clip as its first row.
What Clippings can and can't see
Clippings writes to its own database and reads nothing else. It cannot see your other pages, your teamspaces or anyone else's work; the only page it touches is the one you shared, and only to create the database there. Your Notion token is encrypted at rest.
Disconnect from Settings at any time. The database and every page in it stay in your workspace, because they were always yours.
Plans
Every plan can publish into NotebookLM, Notion or Obsidian. Free holds one connection — pick the one you live in.
